Compared to historical standards, American elections are squeaky clean these days. Commonly candidates would dispense free booze to their supporters and possible supporters before voting in the 19th century.

I have to agree. Even Shrub's first election was only thrown into that Schrodinger's cat state that allowed the whole clownish Supreme Court intervention by Nader. Had those fools who wasted their votes on Nader voted responsibly, Bush would not be in the White House today.

There is definitely some voter fraud going on, but not nearly enough to account for election results. Of course, people who lose rarely are willing to look at themselves in the mirror, or admit that when a race is extremely close, it was really lost in a thousand places early on.
