Saudi Arabia is a very extreme and backward place when viewed from the lense of Western morality. On the other hand, I'm sure it's the paragon of virtue to many devout Muslims.

I don't think this is correct. I think most Muslim countries think Saudi Arabia is a resrtictive backwards society. Muslim women that are allowed to drive in their country don't envy Saudi women because they cannot.
