doug Simulation is not completely impossible, but it takes too long to build a suitable model. Costs tons of money as well. All you get for this is a result which you have to verify in silicon anyway for proof of concept. To learn how the applications (SAP for the matter) large-scale SMP systems are targeted for will run on such a topology you just gotta build a prototype for proof of concept. Horus has build in some flexibility to tweak the memory model in the approach, but this was apparently not enough. K.
