When Reagan was elected, the Iranians shit their diapers and released the hostages during the swearing in ceremoney because they KNEW what was coming. Reagan did a huge defense build up that would have easily been sufficient to topple the ULTRA CONSERVATIVE MULLAHS and CLERICS that you expect you libers to be against, but whom you see as minorities not the fascists that they really are.
