It was a major league rush to war since Saddam never attacked us. Bush did not take him to exhaust UN diplomacy, finish inspections or even prepare our troops with proper armor. Most importantly, he didn't take time to have a post-invasion plan ready to implement. Terrible rush considering the details involved. Which we are now paying for two years later. This pisspoor planning has now greatly weakened our military. And it's all deficit spending too. Plus higher oil prices than ever. Which the Texans and Saudis love.
