It is a hard issue. Are journalists so important that they are indeed above the law?

Judith Miller said she doesn't want to be a martyr for the first ammendment. It seems like she's protecting her job and her career.

This always puzzled me about the matter too. If Novak did cooperate and he was the prime source, the identity of the leaker would be established as closely as possible at that point in time...
