Many dems wound up on the war with the buchananites. IT is easly to move from an isolationist anti warrior to a protectionist i guess. Dems were the internationalist and free trade party forever. When you are internationalist and free trade like we are John, even when we disagree on policy on iraq for example we are still viewing the world much the same way. Schumer should be that kind of guy even if on the left and he has betrayed his political birthright. Mike
