You are right. You can have a democratic communist state. That is why I was careful to say that communism was implemented as a dictatorship in all countries where it was tried: Cuba, Russia, China, North Vietnam, North Korea, etc. Two things I know for sure. Democracy is superior to and lasts longer than Dictatorships. Capitalism is the natural child of the Democratic state and capitalism is superior to communism, because it encourages competition, innovation, and darwinism. Communism goes against the competitive human spirit. Capitalism embraces the natural human spirit.

Communism intended that the workers would rule; that any leaders were mainly administrators. It would be democracy in its purest form. It also intended that property would be owned by everyone as opposed to one individual........like the coops, and not condos, in NYC. Have you noticed that there are few coops outside of NYC..........its for that very reason. At one time, the right accused coops of being subversive.......a communist plot. It is this provision of communism that scares the bejezus out of the capitalists in this country. Its why McCarthy was able to get away with his malicious nonsense for a long time. The closest to real communism we have on this planet is the kibbutz in Israel. And as you probably know, some of them have been very successful in their implementation. As for the Soviets, they were dictatorships with a slighty different flavor............definitely not communism as Marx theorized. Unfortunately, that all gets lost in the cacophony of bleating from the sheep in the GOP. ted
