What beats me is why are the Russians and the Chinese so interested in backing them up on their way to go nuclear? Russia is doing it for two main reasons: 1) they make money off the Iranians...alot of it, 2) they want to have a say in the Middle East to offset our growing influence there...it's a balance of power imperative for them. China is doing it for two main reasons: 1) secure another supply of oil for themselves to keep feeding their growing needs, 2) same as Russia's # 2. Ironically, what the Russians and Chinese don't get is that if the U.S. really got its way and remade every Middle Eastern country into free, peaceful, prosperous, Democratic countries open to world trade, then Russia and Chinese would stand to gain a lot more than keeping an uneasy balance of power in the way they are trying to achieve it. The French...ah well, they are the French. What can really be said about them is that they make good wine and good food and they are fighting for their culture and for the continuation of their past. I feel for them, but I can't agree with their myopic foreign policies.
