I disagree with the assumption that if we internationalize, we create more humane living conditions for people, or for prisoners.

The "war" on terror is an international operation as it is. Some might call it World War IV (or III if you don't count the Cold War as WWIII.)

Captured terrorists are neither criminals nor lawful combatants. If we don't initiate international agreement on lawful treatment of terrorist prisoners, it will be done anyway, without our input.

But if you prefer, I'll put you down for a vote for "my way or the highway." I shudder to think what that will mean when a Democrat is elected President as one will be, sooner or later.

One thing you can count on Republicans doing, is blowing their opportunities for meaningful change.
