Slander is not legal, it is just very hard to prove, and way to expensive to pursue. I wish that weren't true.

Actually it's very American to question everything especially the government. You should ponder that over the weekend and remember that everything you love about the US of A was given to us by LIBERALS and PROGRESSIVES who could see beyond the limitations of their day to a better future. The countries you cite, SA and Afghanistan are mired in fundamentalism just as the evangelical fake christian fascists would like us to be. It is the US of A's liberal socioeconomic system that allows all of us to be as free as we are. Remember that and thank a PROGRESSIVE and LIBERAL this weekend.
