Here's a flag for you, that's not missing the blue like that poor bugger's is - en.wikipedia.org
... the one i'm flying today is made by www.flyingcoloursintl.com, quality made in the g.w.n., not cheap, but good

'Canada has always been included in the G-7 because of its global reputation { and that of its former Prime Minister Trudeau.}'

That's ridiculous, we were included in the G7 for the same reason we were accorded a seat at Versailles in 1919, because we made an outsize contribution to the job of making what passed for world peace ... we came out of the war in 1945 with the world's fourth largest navy and a very high proportion of population under arms, having devoted all resources to the effort, right from Sept 1939 ... it was the boys at Dieppe and Juno Beach and the Falaise Gap who put us where we were in world affairs, and all the people behind them, the Commonwealth Air Training plan and the girls in factories, Lester B had helped a lot by Trudeau's time, but Pierre himself had nothing to do with it .... of course without an economy of some vigour we wouldn't have been in all those places, but Trudeau sure didn't help us hold up that front, did he

'We are not Americans.' - What! - somebody show this goof an atlas, point him out what continent we're on, of course we're freakin americans, first north americans and then americans plain and simple when referring to the hemisphere ... geez this guy must be some kind of Liberal or something ... we should make those people wear a flourescent tattoo on their foreheads, so they can't sneak up on a person and diddle with the Queen's english without being noticed

And i've got a gun too! ... lol, ¡viva Henderson! ... a fine Dominion day to all

Duplicate, hmm, that never happens, must have been the Henderson reference ... oh well it's a double zero grub ... speaking of canuck politics, i just learned today that an old friend who is emphatically not an NDPer is related to Jack Layton ... they must be, as they appear to share an ancestor ... small world.

Copperfield,
I don't care as my buddy marcos on being called after a long dead Italian explorer (I understand his point but not a priority for me) nor do I care much whether it's the Red Ensign or the Red Maple Leaf... But ...

Yet, in many ways we have exercised more influence than our size should suggest. Yes I would certainly take exception to that line. Canada earned it's place plain and simple in blood and sweat and lives... a truly outsized and oft unrecognized contribution.... sadly by many Canadians too...

regards
Kastel

Edit .. I won't even go down the Trudeau road.. I'll leave that to Rex Murphy whom I generally enjoy quite a bit but strongly disagree wrt to Trudeau
