While I would like to think so, I am reflecting on the impeachment of Bill Clinton and the near-impeachment of Dick Nixon. In the case of Clinton, he had about a 70% approval rating as the Republican Congress made a complete ass of itself. In the case of Nixon, he resigned before the American public actually woke up to what was going on.

It will take a miracle to elect a Democratic House in 2006. It will take a stunning sea-change for the Senate to lose its GOP majority.

Impeachment must be commenced in the House. So, I'm not counting on it happening. I'm just perfectly happy though to rile up the public with the thought that they have to throw out every Republican reptile in Congress they possibly can in order to turn the tide against Bush's fascist police state.
