"Yeah, it's not the favorite subject for the Chamber of Commerce"

One time when the schools were pushed onto Galveston Beach, The Galveston Daily Snooze printed an article which mentioned it and that people just might want to consider staying out of the water because of sharks. Man, you could hear anuerisms popping all over town. Now most of the tourists come from Houston on a day trip, so the odds of them actually picking up a paper for anything but replacing a foam cooler top that blew away is pretty close to zero. But many of the local merchants acted as if the paper was trying to run them out of business

Unfortunately, there is one segment of the population that thinks they are invulnerable. The shark attacks in FLA have been broadcast loud and clear on the tube, in papers and on the net, and guess who keeps going in the water and getting bit.........teens. All three victims were teenagers. There have been video clips showing the sharks swarming right off shore but that doesn't stop'em from going into the water.
