Re: bush will ground up into sausage before 2007 is over.

Bushmeat has proven to be quite popular with Africans as their traditional ways of life become disrupted and no longer available.

Re: just look at new fashions and what kinds of movies are popular and what's on TV.

No thanks. I'm not that much of a masochist. <grin>

I had a friend decide, based on a couple of favorable reviews, that we ought to go see "Batman Begins". Disregarding for the moment my natural suspicion of Hollywood blockbusters, we went. I was amazed at the incoherence of the script, the maudlin emotions, the multiple mythologies tormented into a tango of turgidity. And that was the first ten minutes. Things just went downhill from there. As far as what is on TV, I understand that there is a world beyond C-SPAN. Though I dare say channel flipping has become an exercise in futility.

For those seeking a movie that will help them to empathize with what our grunts are going through in Al Anbar Province, I might recommend a Stanley Kubrick film, "Full Metal Jacket". This gets pretty close to describing the bizarre and ultimately futile lives lived by misguided American soldiers.
