I'm not sure of the vig, but .3 or .4 sounds about right. The trouble there is the money involved. A bad streak can really hurt fast. I never take the free odds because I strictly rely on betting strategems. And 1.4 % is sufficient to lose extra hands and still be making money. Funny! I used to always bet "don't pass" because it had about a .01 % advantage over the pass! Of course, when you play "against the table" you can feel the negative energy! Now I like to play on the last winning hand (as you mentioned). But I try to find a quiet place and time where I am the only player! Otherwise--there is baccarat or blackjack.
