Their nukes are purely a defensive deterrent. I'd prefer they didn't have any and in fact, I'd prefer it if no country had nukes. But if I had to choose, I feel far safer if Israel has nukes and Iran does not. Iran cannot be trusted to not use them. Iran is the world's largest sponsor of terrorism, bar none. Are you really so naive as to think it's ok for Iran to have a nuke? I'm frankly flabbergasted. On this issue, you seem to have the naivete of a 2 year old. Your comments suggest that Westerners and Israelis are very rational people and the Muslims are over-the-top crazy. Let me remind you that to date the West and only the West has launched an atomic bomb as an act of aggression against an enemy. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of innocent civilians were slaughtered during that attack. It makes the 9/11 event look like a traffic accident. Therefore, I would appreciate if you would stop enflaming the differences that exist between us and the Muslims. It only makes the situation worse, not better. The average Muslims are people just like you or I. They do not have a crazy gene that makes them want to die or destroy the planet. The Iranians perceive us as the enemy. That is not a surprise. After all, we supported Saddam in their war with Iraq. They lost hundreds of thousands of people in a war started by a expansionist tyrant.........again whom we supported. We embargoed their country and shot at their navy. They have reason not to trust us. Having said that, I don't like the Iranian form of gov't and their religious zeal just as I don't like examples of that zeal in this country. But I also believe that the educated, informed Iranian does not want to nuke the world. I would prefer that no nation had nuke devises. But that is wishful thinking. I suggest that instead of condemning Iran, we find a way to work more closely with them to insure their bombs do not get into the wrong hands. ted
