People can frigging pray 24 hours a day and are free to. Whoever wanted to take that right away? But holding school prayers is something which should be confined to religious schools. Prayer, God and religion are all matters the state should have nothing to do with. Out of respect for those who don't want to pray and may be offended or bothered if their school or military unit starts turning into a church service.

There is a lot of problem with evangelicals in the military now too putting peer pressure on people to join their religion or be ostrasized. My family has several ministers in it. None of them would ever even think of putting pressure on anyone else to pray or worship. Nothing is more obnoxious than religious types who pressure you to be like them, or else. It makes a lot of people very uncomfortable.
