If US 200 year + prosperity is the result of a series of happy accidents, which could be regressing toward the mean, And China's 200 year plus relative poverty was the result of a series of unhappy accidents, which are now ending, Then what are we to make of Europe's experiments with regulation, subsidies, and the 35 hour week ? An accident waiting to happen ? TJ, any governing elite main reason d'etre is its own self perpetuation in power. For the they will kill, destroy and they don't give a fig to the country's and its peoples progress. Ex: Iran and Iraq. China wasn't an exception to this rule. When they saw that the control would be with them any more, they aborted the progress. Brazil is the country of future but the governing elites don't let this happen. Governing elites use their countries to the last drop of blood and the last cent and then drop it like the USSR. Like N. Korea and Cuba. Like Saudi Arabia one day will drop Like Nigeria has been milked for everything that it is worth. For the common person, it has to avoid being dragged to the slaughter house. Avoid being empoverished by taxation. Avoid being fooled by the official propaganda.
