Ah .. the Canadian voter. We must horrify US Fox TV viewers. I myself was brought up PC .. Diefenbaker then my parents switched to Trudeau and later became a red Tories in the good old days of Bill Davis. I voted for Mulroney and Mike Harris. However, I also voted for Trudeau, Rae, Martin and yes .. Sid Ryan in various elections. Most recenly I was a Belinda Stronach delegate for the federal election. But when she didn't win .. I voted for Paul Martin. My story may be more of the rule rather than the exception. How else can provinces, in fact the entire country swing from Red to Blue and back with the odd Green patch, not to mention the PQ and Bloc colors which alternate to red and blue out of step thith the rest of the country.

OTOH I always liked Bob Rae... a bit naive I think when elected (I voted for him) but he was able to make some hard choices... (which personally went hard against our family income since my wife works in health care) and it cost him... too bad as I think he he is an honest guy. I suspect he isn't as honest as you think, and certainly not overly bright..... Dear Bob postulated that some companies just cannot go broke so they can on occasion take a vacation from pension plan contributions..... Bob introduced the law that allowed Stelco to get over a Billion dollars behind in it's pension...... How anyone could overestimate an incompetent management and surly union this badly I have no idea..... Bob was one of the great political Morons in the History of the country......
