Sadly, Al Qaida is out-smarting Bush on the war on terror, and Bush is playing into Osama's hands. Bush is actually making Osama's insane prodections come true. Osama said all the US wants is to occupy the ME and steal their oil. Well look what's happening now? Cane you blame the average Arab kid for believing Osama now?

Bush declared that the last thing the terrorists want is democracy in the ME. Maybe, but the last think we may want is democracy in the ME too. Look who they just elected in Iran. And who's next in Iraq? Or Egypt? It could end up worse than it was under Saddam.

Meanwhile, Osama is sitting back in his cave laughing at us, the bastard. Which is why Kerry's approach to taking out tangos is so much more rational. Don't invade and occupy countries, find the tangos and make them disappear using surgical special operations attacks in cooperation with the local authorities. Or F the locals and just do it ourselves.

But invading and occupying Iraq was a terrible blunder. Such a huge waste.
