There is almost no mention in the MSM that Kerry ever even went to Paris but Kerry did admit he was there on his honeymoon and stopped in for a few meetings to see what was going on. By then I believe he was no longer with VVAW and wasn't repping anyone. And he certainly wasn't negotiating with the VC. There's no record he ever even met any VC. The smearvets are really-really dishonest and deceptive on this one. In order to brand Kerry a "traitor", they try to morph Kerry into a guy named Hubbard who was an angry radical member of the VVAW and did go to Paris doing the things the smearvets claim Kerry did (though never as bad as the smearvets claim). Only problem is, the FBI report proves Kerry was turned off by Hubbard's type, disgreed with him and did not want VVAW to meet with any VC or act radically in any way. The FBI called JK a "moderate" because of this. JK also disliked Hubbard exaggerating his combat experience. So his cooperation with Hubbard would have been very unlikely. Bottomline, the smearvets are trying to hang this Hubbard's activities on Kerry and they do it in a very dishonest way, claiming that "communist-controlled" Hubbard recruited Kerry into the VVAW. But since we know Kerry didn't approve of Hubbard I doubt he went along with him. Kerry did meet with some POW's and have a press conference asking Nixon to agree to the peace accords and a time-table for withdrawl, but not in Paris. This would would be similar to what Kucinich and that GOP congressman who made up "Freedom Fries" did a few weeks ago, that is calling on the president to set a timetable. No big deal. Also, I doubt McCain, a conservative POW, would be close friends with Kerry if JK had ever indeed betrayed the POW's. Sounds like he was doing just the opposite. Trying to save the POW's.
