Country music to me has always seemed to have "gotten it". I do like other kinds of music but country music hits the nail on the head every time. Do you remember Meryl Haggard and Okie from Muskogee or The Fightin' Side of Me? Both of those songs came out in the '70 during the Vietnam War when the music being churned out was anti-war and anti-American fighting men and women. Charlie Daniels is another great singer song writer. What a lotta folks were thinking, he put into words and sung about.
