Oh, there are so many what ifs. What if Al Gore did not distance himself from Clinton. What if Kathrine Harris did not purge 50,000 eligible minority voters.

The point is Justice O'Connor single handedly could have altered history by upholding the constitution. She regretted her decision, that's why she did not resign before 2005 since Bush was still in control. But when Bush gets his second term, her needs to attend her husband has become overwhelming.

It is just so sad to see a grand lady entering her sunset with a heavy conscience burdening her.
