Letters would most certainly be interesting, that's for sure! Don't know if any of the Quakers would have letters, but I'd start there....Plus try all the Universities, Historical Societies, and Genealogy Societies in many areas. Many of the slaves could not write, but some could, plus I am sure that some of the abolitionists must have written letters as well and that some of them were kept.
