There is no doubt that Medicare/Medicaid is both: 1) a more immediate financial problem, and 2) a far larger underfunded financial liability then SS is. I also agree that only COMPREHENSIVE reform will be able to make a dent in the problem. The fact that --- over the last few years --- costs of PRIVATE insurance plans have been rising even faster then Medicare costs have been, is a pretty good indicator that it's systemic problems that affect our health care system, not just government screw-ups/mismanagement, etc.
