If that is what some Mormons in Utah are doing, then I would be my left hand we have law enforcement officials trying to bring those particular Mormons to justice. That is why we are different than the Muslims in the Middle East. We allow religious freedom, but when it breaks our laws, people go to jail after they have been tried and convicted.

I believe polygamy is legal in Utah. I don't know if Utah does anything to those who abuse it.

In Muslim countries they have honor killings, gang rapes, absolutely no religious freedom, oppression of women, hell...oppression of everyone, little girls are handed off to marry men much older than them, the Quran allows polygamy, and you name it.

That is not true. There are Muslims who do such things but they are not considered the norm. The pedophile who took the kids in Idaho.........is that normal by US standards? Of course not......but Muslims might think it is.....because the media gives American pedophiles a lot of coverage just as they give incidents like the Muslim ones you describe above. Why do you believe all Muslims are capable of that crap but few Americans are?

People have accused the Bible of being a violent book because of some of the passages in the Bible. Do you believe the Bible is a violent and evil book? If not, why do you believe the Quran is because of similar accusations? BTW I don't know whether the Quran allows for polygamy. I don't think it does. I do know that the Quran demands that men treat women with respect and dignity. However, just as their are Christians who pervert the teachings of the Bible so are there Muslims who do the same with the Quran.

And one last comment........many Muslims think the very same thing about Americans that you think about them.

You simply cannot compare the Muslim countries to ours and say they are so much alike. You also cannot compare the our religious freedom to the way they practice religious intolerance in their countries.

I said the people are more similar than you seem to think. In fact, the countries are different but the people are very similar to us. The Iranians you so fear were some of the sweetest people in class.........very concerned about the tensions between our respective nations. In fact, I would say Iranians seem similar to Europeans.

I've gone to school with Muslims, studied with them, had coffee with them. They joke like we do; they have the same aspirations as we do; and the same fears. I only wish I had spent more time with them and developed some real friendships but my schedule did not permit.
