RE hurricanes - Also the rush of people buying gas to drive out of florida up into N Ga to escape their doom. Did many platforms shut down for long amounts of time last year during all the hurricanes?

Last year in my area many retirees that normally don't leave thier house fired up that old 84 cadillac and headed for the hills - the local gas station guy told me business was never better - there were some shortages that only lasted a day or so - he would just shut down a few pumps and only leave a couple open.

I had the bright idea of going to new orleans to escape it all and party at the big easy - and right as I was pulling into town I saw all these cars pulling out - another hurricane was coming there!! I turned around - about 12 hours and 2 miles later I walked over to the gas station and for the first time in my life got to experience what my father told me about gas queues in the 70's. Cars were lined up 100 deep to get into that gas station and fill up - it was madness. People were pissing all over the place - women had given up trying to shield thier childrens eyes from seeing the private parts of others - dogs were getting run over after owners let them out to pee - fights were breaking out - old grandma millies were hitting each other over the head with thier purses for that last twinkie and bottle of pepsi.

It doesn't take long for civilized people to break down.
