The fact is that Saddam had WMDs. He never gave up the dream of being the neighborhood bully. Even when UN inspectors were hounding him, he wanted to be the bad boy. Systems may have deteriorated, but he was stockpiling the building blocks to restart the programs. He was stockpiling the people to pursue WMD programs (Most if not all foreign scholars were in biology, biochemistry and other fields relating to WMD systems).

Liberals need to believe that there were no major WMD systems intact, and that is the whole truth. It is simplistic, but it is what they need.

Definitely he had plenty of those stuff, thanks to Bush Sr, and also the US supplied leftovers from the Iran-Iraq war. He was a US puppet, born and raised to the pedestal by CIA. The question should be what happened to so many of them US raised, groomed, and pedestaled US puppets?
