Nonsense. A state religion is exactly what the framers of the constitution sought to prevent. The constitution protects our freedom of religion (or lack thereof) precisely by keeping government's potentially coercive hands out of it.

"There is a difference between a state religion and a state-mandated religion"

Does the Federal Government have a State religion? Where is this set down and what religion is it? Judaism, Jainism....what?

What are the penalties for violating this "National Religion"? Where are these penalties for breaking the law (or for treason) enumerated?

You claim that ALL monotheistic religions are the NATIONAL religion! How foolish is that? Did you want to change that to a PARTICULAR religion! Or do you enjoy being a pagan!?

"For someone who holds himself out as an intellectual, you only seem to be able to operate in black & white."

When I am dangling from a 19 storey balcony by one hand and drunk it is sort of black and white...HUH?

When Egyptian magicians can create life spontaneously without any awareness from history (and then lose the ability)...it is sort of black and white...HUH?
