one wonders why the author chose FINANCIAL FIRMS (!) Why not? When financing regime change is a legitimate investment private financial firms are of course there in the market. More efficient, and overall better at it than governments. Do give the book a chance :-) I seldom read anything but nonfiction books, anyway. Aww, that is such a shame. Sci-fi has changed a lot in the last decade or so, and is no longer focused on little green men. There are some very interesting books out there that have shaped the background on which most discussions on the future of the internet, technology, and society currently take place.
