AS, You are stunningly naive about Washington politics. George Bush is a willing prisoner to the system that rewards him with a figurehead position, but which demands that he remain totally loyal to the system. This is a system of militarism, grotesque war profiteering and continual devastation of the public for the sake of corporate special interests. If George Bush were to do something brave and useful like declaring an end to his mad aggression against the Iraqi people, Bush would be cut down, just as Jack Kennedy was cut down within weeks of signing an Executive Order calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Viet Nam. Bush is a prisoner of the system. And he knows it.
