We must be talking about different things....what comment did Durbin make that he did not stand up in front of the Senate and eat crow over, including using the word "apologize" about ten times? Here is Durbin's fourth published apology..to vets....http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050626/ap_on_go_co/durbin_veterans_1 And here is a quote from the vets at the speech:

"Durbin received a standing ovation from most of the crowd after his speech Saturday. Charlie Brimm, 55, said Durbin's comments upset veterans, but most think his apologies are sincere"

As for the leaking of a CIA operative's identity....forget the politics, just turn it around and ask what would have been the reaction of Robert Novak if this had happened by anyone in the Clinton administration? Or had been RUMORED to have come from inside the administration? Or wasn't even rumored....but might be insinuated to have come from there?

I have read Novak for many years, ever since the column was Evans and Novak (remember those days?). He would have, in my humble opinion, been on such a story like dirt, tossing thunderbolts of accusation against those darn democrats who can't protect the Country's security...
