All we have to do is pass it. I think it's important to remember that a village can get thru this better than a family can. At the time I found out the town was starting to organize, I was planning on hitting the pub with my sons, to filgure out how to get us thru all this. Finding out that the "entire" town was planning was a great relief. Lots more skills, better for security, etc. Need that kind of spirit to manage our wild game; I've started to think about poachers; told somebody we have to figure that one out.(Wouldn't mind burning a few folks out, if it comes to that). We'll be in even better shape if the entire county starts gearing up.

What really concerns me are the cities. We may be OK, but how is the Bay Area and the Silicon Valley formerly known as the Fruit Basket of the World going to be able to grow enuf food?

WOW...OT The race announcers just said Backsted had a max HR of 201. I am impressed..
But I digress. How can NY, Boston, DC, any of them, make it?

Our generation's challenge.

This is one of the more beautiful posts on S.I. It reads like poetry: Thank you for sharing who you are...

Not so important to the rest of the world but to me this time contained all the magic that Merlin could cast. And we experienced a moment where laughter was all we could say. Laughter so intense it was like crying.

I refuse to go blindly or quietly into whatever darkness awaits. No stumbling or groaning or moaning for a second chance. We as a race of beings have too much potential to not face our truth or its consequences.

So I buy solar panels and save seeds and live as I always have but prepare for the worst. And hope for the best.

That has to be enough for me. It is all I can do. But together with focus we all can discuss and show what we know. But still it is up to each of us to decide whether or not we accept this as being a possibility.

And accept the consequences if we are wrong.
