Thanks for your reply and the good thoughts you share. Your right about the SOX possibly making a turn to the buy side. Let's see if it can clear the falling 20sma; it has already held up above the 100sma okay:

I definitely WON'T be shorting not'in in the next few days if the SOX gets above that 20sma.

However, going through some of the SOX component stocks, MANY fell below their FALLING 100sma a week ago (if not already there), which is now acting as resistance for those stocks. Hard to find a semi-stock I would be buying today - INTL: what's up there?:

...if the spx can't close above the 20sma today, and the sox can't go any higher than 433 (which looks to be an upper falling trendline from early June), then the RUT short is on for me. I'll probably start at 50% today.
