The trashing of Gonzales is a strategic error by the right. The fact that there are no guarantees how ANYONE will act once appointed for life cries out for judicial TERM LIMITS. The idea that if we can just get Bush to appoint 3 or 4 to the USSC their decades-long assumption of power will finally end is near-sighted. The power of the judiciary has to be LIMITED by the combined actions of the legislative and executive branches. That's easy to do. The constitution PROVIDES for it...
