As I pointed out, including data from one poll, the divergence of liberal vs conservative views on modern economics is small. Well within the range of functional economic systems. Can you understand what that means? What you, LindyBill and Nadine will not admit is the validity of those numbers. So perhaps you can provide numbers showing otherwise. Could you provide data showing what fraction of Liberals are opposed to property ownership, what fraction favor communism over capitalism, etc. The data I provided astonishingly enough showed liberals MORE in favor of free trade than conservatives. LOL! If you think that same group of liberals are communists, provide data please! 2) GM foods. The issue here is safety and environmental impact. I have a ten acre U-pick berry farm. I subscribe to Ag magazines. My wife has a Phd in Entomology and works consulting in the ag industry. I help her do chemical trials for chemical companies, the USDA, and some of the ag Universities working to develop new and better products. We have done this for 15 years. I know what I am talking about. If you want to really understand this just do the following: Make retailers identify GM foods with a prominent label like the Organic sticker. See what sells. Its that simple. Sure some diehards will buy to support the cause, but it will be an economic failure. Which is why the ag/food industry is so would rather keep the consumer in the dark on the issue. In the future, I think GM holds great promise. The liberal opposition to GM is largely one of environmental and health safety. This is because they understand both science and value the environment. The problem with conservatives is they say, damn the environment, feed the starving people. We are only on the threshold of this field. Evolution has been around for 150 years. You don't seem to comprehend the difference between an emerging field with many open questions and a well established one. Then we could get into how the environmental movement is more fundamentalist than any Southern Baptists I know.... The fringe perhaps, but I doubt it. Once again, however, you totally fail to understand the magnitude of the numbers. Southern Baptists are a significant blocks (30M+??) while PETA & the likes is way smaller. Which is all I have been trying to point out to you guys.
