I just skipped a couple of dozen posts to reply to you.

"You're just overflowing with happiness! And you're not bitter at all, really!"

I AM bitter against people. I am NOT bitter against any ideas of a just God or force that informs humanity.

Indeed, I have just re-read "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" after quite a few decades. This book was written in the early 1900's by Kate Wiggins. It carries the religious piety of the times. One could call it a children's book, I suppose. Someone asked me to "grow up" the other day and I realized that when you can reclaim a child-like view of the world and imagine again...you are as growed up as you can get before the diapers come on.

Anyway...Rebecca listened to her heart. Is that a religion? I don't know. But she felt the life of (not only humans)--but flowers and water and sun and sky. I confess that I brushed some tears from my eyes. Growing up can be very emotional...
