The benefit is reaped every day, by being given instruction in the best way to live. And about that "eternal life" that seems outrageous to you, remember that time is relative. Our concept of time means very little. Even by our own physics, it is possible in theory to stretch a few seconds into what could seem like an eternity.

How could you know after death that there is nothing after death?
