Re: What does China have to offer ...Pollution by the tons, dead rivers, one child policy, NO FREEDOM.

No freedom?!? You should drop by Brussels... the city is swarming with ever more Chinese tourists every year...

Re: You can have China, in fact why aren't you living there?

LOL... Hey, that's a good idea --I might consider moving over there... if only I could afford it! A few months ago, there was a Belgian delegation travelling to China. It was the usual high-level, protocolary trip led by HRH Prince Philippe of Belgium (the crown prince) accompanied by a retinue of dozens of Belgian businessmen. Among them were two celebrities of Belgian luxury biz: Mr Edouard Vermeulen, an haute-couture designer (maison Natan*) who made Princess Mathilde's wedding dress, and François Schwennicke, the CEO of Delvaux(**), a manufacturer of leather handbags and accessories... Both were interviewed by the Belgian TV as they strolled in Shanghai. The interviewer asked them if they ever considered setting up shop in Shanghai, China's most modern --and affluent-- city. And guess what: they both replied that Shanghai was a bit too expensive!! They said that a commercial partnership with a local fashion retailer might be preferable as a first step... What a change ten years can make, huh?
