I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Biology and later went on to get a masters degree in Computer Science. I can say with absolute certainty that the biology BS degree helped me in every step of my career. I wholly recommend it even if that’s not the career path you end up taking. The main thing I learned from my undergraduate education was the scientific method and a skeptical way of evaluating the accepted wisdom.

There are a number of degrees that end in the word science, such as Computer Science that don’t actually teach their graduates to be scientists.

btw... Some of the worse programmers, in my experience were engineers, well except phd biologists and MDs.
