Stock Futures Plummet After Series of London Explosions Injures More Than 300 People

NEW YORK (AP) -- Jittery traders sent stock futures sharply lower Thursday after a series of explosions rocked London, injuring more than 300 people.
Futures for the Dow Jones industrials index were down more 180 points before recovering, and were down 93 points at 10,180 less than a half-hour before trading was scheduled to begin on Wall Street. Futures for the S&P 500 dropped more than 15 points and Nasdaq composite futures fell more than 14 points.

Treasuries and gold, which are seen as safe investments, rose on the news, while oil prices fell.
