That is not good advice Jay - they did not like foreigners once you got away from the nice cushy hotels - they almost killed my business partner when we were there - we got beat up at some shack downtown that sold conch salad because I mis-pronounced bahamian and this was a great insult to one of the natives. We got away with just a few bruises. We went to the market where all the tour ship people hung out and my friend got some braids causing us to be there long after dark and the crowd left and 2 thugs mugged us. We called the police - HAHA. I had been chatting with some chicks online before going over there - met them the next night - they worked at bank of bahamas - one was a loan officer - the other a teller - biggest gold diggers I ever met on any island I was ever at - we got drunk - they stole our wallets (the muggers had already got most of our free cash) which had the security passes for the conference we were attending the next day - this was in 2000 - missed the first day of the conference because they wouldn't let us back in without the cards. 2 days later we went to some club - the napolean or the zoo - I don't remember and one of our mates got a knife pulled on him. The next day we thought the fine staff at club med would take care of us and the bartender jacked us one night for about 100 bucks when we got really drunk - we went to hang out with madonnas tour director at "the pink house" - right across form the atlantis and she bitchslapped my partner cause he made a pass at her and for revenge she got some taxi driver named BATTLES to come over and smack him up some more - FUGG the bahamas - I will never go back. We went over to the atlantis and played some slots - eric estrada was there for the conference and he was telling my mate how he was losing his ass at the tables and couldn't find a slut anywhere - so my friend - he goes over to some kojack wannabe girl sinead o connor shaved head who looked like she had a ton of money and made a pass - we get thrown out - next night we go back - some prince from Saudi comes up on his 200 million dollar yacht with like 100 person entourage - they kick everyone out of half the casino at his request. Last big meeting of the conference (it was a money conference and they were talking about new money laundering laws) they get al franken to come in for comic relief at all the seriousness and give some speech on helping the poor people and sticking it to bush - HAHA - what a trip - I would not send my worst enemy to the bahamas. THat is an island of pirates and murderers. At least its not as bad as mexico where the police and military jack you like everyone else too.
