It has nothing to do with respecting them or trusting us. It has to do with the moral bankruptcy of blowing up subways and crashing planes into buildings full of innocent non-combatants. IMO, they don't need our respect to shun barbarism.

We need to create an environment of knowledge from our own leaders to redefine our mission in the Middle East. We need to rise above the rhetoric of terror and create a better understanding for the Muslims we are trying to help. How can we expect them to trust us until the average American shows some degree of compassion and respect for the average Muslim the day the 'average muslim' starts condemning VOCIFEROUSLY terrorism and takes real steps to eliminate the murderers in their midst (instead of harboring them) is the day i will show them 'compassion and respect'
