I'm not sure I've ever seen Have Gun Will Travel. Since you recommend it I'll see if I can rent it. Thanks.

I really enjoyed Dear Frankie, which I saw last night. And I'm going to watch Callas Forever as well as Bride and Prejudice today.

I know an old man who is on his last legs. He is constantly on oxygen and barely gets around. He watches Gun Smoke every single day and must have seen every episode at least a dozen times. He watches old western movies as well.

I figured that since he subscribes to the classic westerns channel on cable and that he is on a fixed income, he might appreciate an opportunity to look at some westerns that are modern ... you know, since talkies and color came out. So, I bought him some tapes and CDs, the equipment to play them, and went into a long explanation of how to check out movies for free from the library.

The movies I bought for him have been gathering dust for a couple of years and he made excuses for not checking anything out from the library. This made no sense to me so I demanded an explanation.

Apparently, he is at a point in his life where he needs to be reminded that things will be ok. Matt Dillon shoots and kills everybody who gives him any crap and by the end of the show, my friend knows that will set everything right. He doesn't like thinking that he might watch a show in which that doesn't happen. So, he will watch Mathew D. over and over again because that is what it takes to find any comfort in his old age.

Western freaks, Trekies, etc. all very interesting.
