You expected them too? On what historical basis?

Message #123807 from Bill at 7/7/2005 11:19:55 AM

This morning, there is not one Muslim leader on TV condemning the bombings.
Why is that?

Bill,
Better question. Reports on the radio say al quaeda executed Egyptian ambassador to Iraq. Will Mubarek have balls enough to send his army to Iraq to avenge this killing and help destroy zarquawi? Despite the claims made over and over again on this thread, we cannot do this alone. Time for the US and Euros to unite over London and time for the arabs to help clean up their own mess. Mike

Their continued silence is as much as stating out loud that they support the jihad. Time to call it a religious war or a Crusade and fight it as such. F em.

Why is that?

Because they condone them?

How easy do you think it is to get on TV this morning?

Here are a couple of Muslim organisations in the UK that immediately condembed the attacks. I can pretty much guarantee you that organisations like this in the UK or the US would love to be able to get coverage of their condemenations.

Here's the problem....what get's better ratings, putting on a mainstream Muslim organisation or putting on somebody that seems to provide some justification for the attacks?

Iran and Syria, both on Washington's list of states sponsoring terrorism, joined an unbroken chorus of condemnation, as did the Palestinian Authority, the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas and Lebanon's Shi'ite Muslim Hizbollah guerrillas.

"Lebanon, which has been the victim of violence for years, shares with the British their pain," said Lebanese President Emile Lahoud.

"It is a heinous act," Saudi Arabia's Social Affairs Minister Abdulmohsen Al-Akkas said. Syria's President Bashar al-Assad condemned "these detested acts."

"We condemn with the strongest possible terms these explosions, and convey our sincere condolences to the British people and government," said Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat.

Leading Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim scholar Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah voiced outrage. "These crimes are not accepted by any religion. It is a barbarism wholly rejected by Islam," he said.
