Why it's treason.

en.wikipedia.org

In outing Valerie Palme, who was a covert operative for the CIA, the outer also exposed Ms. Palme's cover. Ms. Palme's cover was a dummy corporation she "worked" for, consisting of fake offices, fake employees, etc. It no doubt was used a cover for other CIA spies (which is what Ms. Palme WAS). It quite possible that many OTHER agent's cover was blown by outing Ms. Palme. The cover corporation was blown. How many years of work gaining trust and penetrating foreign governments was lost by that peurile act of spiteful revenge? How many millions of dollars flushed down the crapper?

Bush Sr. called it "insidious treason" for anyone to ever out the ID of a CIA agent, and he wasn't even talking about a WMD's undercover agent during war-time when we were transfixed on WMD's. That makes it triply bad. Treason is anything that endangers the lives of your own forces or people, especially during war-time.

Rove is guilty of high treason. Though not an enemy agent, he might as well have been. The motives were despicable.
