Seems like the quote from Irving Kristol will apply to an ever increasing number of people who formerly seemed to be in such disagreement with unclewest's POV: A neo-conservative is a liberal who has been mugged by reality. I hope that al Qaeda's continued efforts will sufficiently 'mug' the world with reality, so that everyone finally realizes the truth in unclewest's statement: "We cannot lose this war. That is the bottom line."

But i think you know you are a dinosaur Yes, I agree I am a dinosaur. and I can tell you with the confidence of having just spent the last week with the finest Special Forces soldiers ever...that it is much better that us dinosaurs are out to pasture. The men serving in SF today thanked us dinosaurs over and over for our contributions and for leading the way...yet all we could do was marvel at their expertise and professionalism. They are light years ahead of us. You have to deal with folks like me who whine and wimper a bit. And then there are the lefties. Nope, we don't have to deal with you at all. You civilians need to come to terms with the threat and then figure out who to align yourselves with. We are not going to align with you. You have lots of choices. You can follow folks like Kennedy and Kerry. You can elect Billary as your leader. You can make Al Sharpton SECDEF. Or you can support those who know how to fight, win and protect you. Or you can continue to whine and whimper. One thing is certain...Those who are willing to take the fight to the enemy....Those who are willing to fight to protect and defend the United States of America do not have to accommodate the whiners. This war has legs. I am confident the whiners are going to get many opportunities to learn where their support needs to go. The whiners are important in this respect. If the whiners fail to figure out where their best defense lies and make an enormous effort to support those folks...we will lose this war. The troops know what is going on. They get the news. They are waiting for your decision. The troops are all volunteers. They have rights too. One of them is to walk off the battlefield at the end of their term of service and let the whiners defend themselves.
