Perhaps this time it'll be Fitzgerald the Prosecutor or maybe independent-thinking House Republicans that can bring down this corrupt house of cards. Indictment for serious crimes against the nation and impeachment for lying about war...it could happen. IMO, one of the major reasons there's such annimosity in the country is the realization that most people's share of the pie isn't growing and may indeed be shrinking. I still think the last optimistic decade was the 70s. That was also our peak of oil production. I don't know if that's causal or just a coincidence but I do think we're living in fear of falling permanently behind. We see China and India coming up behind us and we have no idea what to do about it. It makes us all cranky even if we don't realize it....that's my pet theory this week. :)
