I think some conservatives are looking for guarantees that cant be provided. SC justices attack each case on a case by case basis. Each Justice will make up his mind each time after hearing the evidence. SCOTUS can give no ideology absolute assurances on votes. And it works both ways. Felix Frankfurter was an FDR liberal but a conservative once on the court. What you want on the court are intelligent and open minded folks who will listen to all the arguments. Thats where bork ran into trouble because of his extensive paper trail of views apart from decisions he wrote that left little room for mystery on how he would rule on each issue. I can see little reason to object to any of the ten or so names being considered. Democrat activists will oppose them all but i think in the end that gang of 12 will get that nominee thru and impose cloture if and when necessary. Mike
